In the new Star Trek Movie, one of the ‘alien creatures’ that feature is the polarilla – which according to one report runs like a polar bear, but has the rear quarters and hanging knuckles of a gorilla.

It’s Polar Bear Awareness Week…

…at least it is in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Rio Grande Zoo is the site of the local celebrations, which involve all species of bears, including the best bear of all – the polar bear!
