Six Tonne Polar Bear Now in Montreal
The six tonne Ice Bear (it has a bronze skeleton and is made from ice) is now at its final resting place in Montreal after visiting Ottawa, Quebec City and London as well Copenhagen for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (actually there were three bears constructed one for London, one for Copenhagen and one for Canada).
The giant polar bear statue is part of the aptly named “Polars Bears on Thin Ice” campaign and is the brainchild of the WWF (no, not wrestling!) and a number of other organisations to bring awareness to the plight of the polar near and related climate change issues!
