Some very cool polar bear photos, the second one is great – he looks like an ewok in the snow! Other have this young male throwing a stick into the air and generally playing!
The photos are by Steven John Kazlowski and were taken in Fairbanks, Alaska. He reported to the Telegraph in the UK that he ahd tracked this bear for two months and that he loved playing with the stick!
Here is the link to four of the photos and the story;
Amazing story about a man who dedicates his life to cleaning up other people’s messes! Here’s the first few lines from the story, just to set the scene!
Here’s a question for you. Which country has the world’s most tigers? India? Indonesia? Not even close.
Try America. Yes, America. Now, these tigers aren’t roaming the wilds of the mid west and they’re not even in zoos. No, these are household pets.
In all, there are some 7000 tigers being kept in the backyards and even loungerooms of everyday Americans. Staggering. And it doesn’t stop with tigers.
Animal lovers with a taste for the exotic are also sharing their homes with leopards, lions, wolves – even bears.
It’s all quite legal, but not surprisingly, things don’t always end well for the owners. Nor for these magnificent creatures.
Finally back to submitting our weekly favourite polar bear video from our vast collection. Let’s go way back to our honeymoon in 2005 and although the snow was sparse and the bears were even more sparse, the ones we did see were very entertaining. Our driver told us that some photographers come out for weeks just to see polar bears wrestling like this (although he may have just been trying to make us feel better!)
The Toledo Zoo have been posting a series of videos on their website featuring their new polar bear cub. All of the footage is from a stationary camera inside the den – very cool! The young cub hasn’t been named since keepers don’t know its sex, it has been with mum since the start!
